How do I enable comments?

You can now comment on Lex posts! Here’s a quick run-down of the feature.

How do I enable or disable comments on my post?

When you go to write a post, you’ll see a new option at the top of the screen in grey that says ‘Comments On’. If you tap this, you’ll toggle comments off.

If comments are toggled on, you’ll see a little message bubble icon in the middle of your post when it’s published, and anyone on Lex can reply. As the author, you have the power to delete any comments on your post as you see fit.

Can I turn comments off after publishing my post?

Yes! After you've published your post, you can always go back and edit your post to turn the comments off. And if you change your mind later, you can easily turn them back on the same way.

Do my comments get deleted if I disable comments on my post?

If you decide to turn off comments, all of the existing comments will no longer be visible. They will reappear if you turn comments back on again.

How are comments moderated?

Post authors are the moderators of their comment threads. Post authors can delete any comments as they see fit.

You can’t currently report a specific comment, but you can always report the person who wrote the comment. As a reminder, please stick to reporting folks for violating our community guidelines - no need to report people just because you disagree with them.

I posted a comment and now it’s gone. Where did my comment go?

The author of the post most likely deleted it. If they didn’t, it might be a bug - you can shake your device to report it!

Can I edit or delete my own comments?

You cannot edit your own comments. You can delete your own comments. You can do this by tapping the three dots on the right side of your comment, and selecting ‘Delete comment’.

Can I react to other people’s comments?

Not yet, but we’re working on it! Keep your app updated to get this feature soon.

Can I turn off notifications for comments?

Yes! In your account settings, you'll now find notifications settings for "Comments on my posts" and "Comments on posts I commented on". Toggle them off or on to match your preferences.
