Castro’s original LGBTQ+ video bar, a local favorite for over 50 years now, Midnight Sun makes up for its size with plenty of cushioned seating and plenty of drag queen and king personalities. 5. Q Bar

6. Wild Side West

The first lesbian bar in the city, opened in 1962, Wild Side West is situated in Bernal Heights. Notably frequented by the likes of Janis Joplin and Bob Dylan, Wild Side West remains a cozier neighborhood queer staple that hosts bingo nights, Wednesday trivia, and a cozy outdoor garden space.
