How do I edit my profile?

Time for a profile refresh? To get to the edit screen,

1. Tap the smiley face icon in the bottom right corner of your screen
2. Tap 'Edit Profile' or tap on your profile picture

👀 To preview your profile, tap "preview" from the editing screen, or tap on your profile picture when you first view it.

Adding or changing your profile picture

Tap anywhere on your current profile picture to upload an image or select a Lexmoji. If you're not sure if your profile picture is allowed, you can read up on our rules here (hint: no nudity, please!).

Editing the basics

You can edit your name, username, and pronouns whenever you like. Simply tap on the field you'd like to edit and start typing! Please note that usernames are case sensitive. So if you're trying to change your username from @Lex to @lex, it's possible it's been taken by someone else!

It's not possible to edit your birthday or sign in the app at this time. If one or both are incorrect, you can send an email to support@lex.lgbt with your username and your birthday in MM/DD/YYYY format to get it corrected.

Changing your location

If you've moved somewhere new or you're on a trip, your location will not automatically update. Visit the Edit Profile screen and tap on your location to update it.

If you want to virtually 'visit' somewhere else, you can purchase a Lexplore pass!

Editing gender, sexuality, and relationship type

Lex is made by a team of queer folks, many of us trans and non-binary! We came up with a short list of options for you to select from, but we included a write-in field since we knew we wouldn't be able to capture everything.

To edit yours, tap on the field you'd like to update. You can select up to three genders or opt to write in something to describe yourself 🌻

To edit your relationship type, tap on the arrow and select the option that fits you best. You can add a little extra description to make it personal.

With any of these fields, you can tap to remove your selection(s) so that they're no longer visible on your profile.

Someone told us this feature solves the perpetual confusion: is it a date?

When you toggle these fields on, you'll see them appear on your profile as buttons. People can tap on these to prompt a conversation with you.

Showing your groups & social on your profile

We know privacy is critical for our users. You don't have to show your social media OR the groups you're a part of on your profile if you prefer not to.

To hide these, you can scroll to the bottom of your edit profile screen and toggle your options on or off.
